Walthamstow — E17

Gutter Repairs in Walthamstow E17

Gutters on Walthamstow's Victorian and Edwardian houses carry a lot of water, and they often leak long before the roof does. Older runs sag, joints split and brackets rust through, and the water finds the brickwork or the fascia behind. KC Roofing & Scaffolding repairs gutters, downpipes and fascias across E17, from the streets around Lloyd Park and Walthamstow Market to the family houses near Highams Park.

Gutter problems tend to show up as damp walls, staining on the fascia or water running down the outside of the wall after rain. Often the fix is a joint, a bracket or a short section of run rather than a full replacement. We check the whole run, from the top of the downpipe to the outlet, so the repair holds.

Blocked gutters cause a lot of trouble. Leaves and moss build up in the run, the water overflows and the fascia rots behind it. We clear and inspect the gutter while we repair it, so you know the water is moving the way it should.

Walthamstow's houses vary. Victorian terraces often have shallow eaves gutters that have been adapted over the years, while larger Edwardian houses may have deeper parapet or valley gutters that need different detailing. We match the repair to the way the house was built.

Gutter repairs we carry out in Walthamstow

Joints, brackets and sagging runs

Split joints are resealed or replaced, loose and rusted brackets are renewed, and sagging runs are re-fixed to the correct fall so water drains to the downpipe.

Downpipes and outlets

Cracked or blocked downpipes are repaired or replaced, and hopper heads are checked so water is directed away from the walls.

Fascias and soffits

Gutter leaks often lead to soft fascias and rotten soffit boards. Where timber has been damaged, we replace the affected section and reline the run.

Walthamstow houses and planning

Terraces and semis

Shared gutters on terraces and semis need a clear agreement about which section is being repaired. We explain the work to neighbours where needed.

Access and safety

Gutter work is done from a ladder or a safe working platform. Where we need access equipment for our own roofing work, it is provided in-house, for our own projects only.

Original features and conservation areas

Where a house has original cast-iron or period detail, we aim to match the profile and finish. Where the council has rules on alterations, we confirm them with you first.

Gutter Repairs in Walthamstow — FAQs

Why is water running down my wall after rain?

Usually a gutter joint is leaking, a downpipe is blocked or cracked, or the run is sagging and not draining. We check each of these so the water reaches the downpipe and stays away from the wall.

Do I need the whole gutter replaced?

Rarely. Most gutter problems are joints, brackets or one section. Replacing the whole run is only needed where the gutter is badly corroded or the profile is wrong for the house.

Can you repair the fascia at the same time?

Yes. Where gutter leaks have damaged the fascia or soffits, we can repair them in the same visit and tell you what the timber needs before work starts.

Is gutter cleaning included in a repair?

We clear the run as part of a repair so the work can be checked properly. A standalone gutter clean is a separate job, and we can quote for that too.
